What we offer

We like to call our workshops threads. It takes more than one thread to make a beautiful tapestry. Our workshops are offered in a series to allow sustainable learning to take place. These workshops are 90 to 120 minutes in length and are offered at our facility or yours. The workshops are interactive, and fun, and touch the head the heart and the hand. Participants walk away with tangible things they can take back to the work place immediately.

How Do We measure Up – Assessments — if you haven’t already done an assessment…you probably should. Many organizations jump right in with training….but it would be much better to have a baseline of where are we now and where do we want to go. Tapestry has a great workshop for managers and leaders to understand all of the elements of a world class diversity organization, and assess areas that make for a great foundation.

My Co-Workers Say the Darnedest Things — this interactive workshop is ideal for a 90 minute to three hour session on exploring Unconscious Bias,  We discuss how biases are not always bad, we all have them, but many times our biases get in the way of making good decisions.  Through lecture, video clips, and group activities, participants understand and experience how biases are developed, what it feels like to be an insider versus and outsider.  The group activities allow individuals to learn more about their co-workers and to discover how we all have been stereotyped and how we might stereotype.

Pink Elephant – A new and improved sexual harrassment workshop — this is a 90 minute to two hour workshop that goes beyond the typical harassment training that is compliance based.  This program gives individuals tools to be active bystanders.  Just being aware of the terms “hostile environment” and “quid pro quo” do very little to address harassment in the work place.  This workshop allows participants to be aware of the most common places harassment might occur and explains the “bystander effect”.  Through lecture, video clips and case studies, participants walk away with a toolkit that includes ways to be an active bystander – including the Pink Elephant.

Generations – The Young and the Rest of Us —understanding how and why different generations view things and what makes them tick….participants walk away with ways to communicate, recognize, and have meetings that appeal and engage a multi-generational workforce.

LGBT – That’s So Straight —terminology, myths, language that offends, and ways to be inclusive are just several of the topics in this workshop.

Unconscious Biases – I AM NOT Biased…or am I? —recognizing and managing our biases..how our bias effect our actions and decisions. Examples of unconscious bias are reviewed. When we know better we do better.
